In 1980 Emiel Kronnenburg and his family founded crownmountain brand croquettes in Port Perry Ontario. Their traditional recipe and homemade process quickly made the crownmountain brand very popular in the dutch community and the company grew rapidly. In 2001 the company was purchased by Country Fish and Chips and moved to Mississauga.
